Bingo A-Go-Go Hits 25 Mark
Mark your calendars! It's our biggest bingo event yet!
On Saturday, September 25, 2010, Miss Richfield 1981 and Bingo A-GoGo will take to the stage for the 25th time for “Boob Tube Bingo presented by Fiant Dental”. Bingo A-GoGo is a creative fundraising event benefiting Clare Housing and Park House, two Twin Cities HIV/AIDS care providers.
What started in a cozy basement at Incarnation Church in South Minneapolis has grown into a large-scale, 700+ player fundraising event held at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Minneapolis.
Bingo A-GoGo players are from all walks of life. Men. Women. Mothers. Fathers. Grandmothers. Grandfathers. Sisters. Brothers. Friends. Lovers. Gays. Straights. Transgendered. The September 25th event will have over 700 people playing bingo in a “great bingo hall” for two great HIV/AIDS charities.
“Since our first game in 2002, Bingo A-GoGo has raised over $500,000 for Clare Housing and Park House, ensuring efforts to provide supportive housing and day and mental health services to the HIV/AIDS community in the Twin Cities,” says Lee Haugee, Bingo A-GoGo co-organizer and self-proclaimed ‘Bingo Babe’.
Attendees of Bingo A-GoGo get to play up to 10 games of bingo for cash and prizes. They also can enter huge raffle prize drawings, watch live entertainment, enjoy food and beverages, and participate in a tv-themed solo or group costume contest for prizes.
The event’s emcee, Miss Richfield 1981, and her sidekicks Barbie Q and Gosh Alice Jones, are always a comedic hit with attendees. Their constant banter with bingo participants has people at the edge of their seats wondering what they will do or say next. Miss Richfield has appeared on TLC’s “Cake Boss”, performs on Atlantis cruises, and performs annually in Provincetown throughout the summer and Minneapolis during the holidays. Details on Miss Richfield can be seen at www.missrichfield.com.
“We are so thankful for our dedicated bingo sponsors, supporters and volunteers – not to mention the players! This event brings together and amazing community to support Clare Housing and Park House,” declares Haugee. “And don’t forget all the fun we have,” chimes in Bingo Babe Shannon Regan, Bingo A-GoGo co-organizer and second self-proclaimed
‘Bingo Babe’.
